The world number two Roger Federer defeated the world number one Rafael Nadal 6-4 6-3 in the Shanghai Master Final to win his sixth title of the year & 94th career title. Federer was in superb form & notched up his fifth victory in succession over Nadal. The victory now moves Federer level with Ivan Lendl of Open era titles, with only Jimmy Connors having more on 109 titles.

The best two players in the world, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer will play each other in the Shanghai Masters Final after both coming through tough semi – final matches. Nadal the top seed beat Marin Cilic in straight sets 7-5 7-6 in just over two hours, while Federer had to work a lot harder to beat Argentine Juan Martin del Potro 3-6 6-3 6-3. It will be a mouth watering encounter between the elite pair which Federer has won the last four meetings.

Roger Federer & Rafael Nadal the top seeds are through to the semi-finals in Shanghai & are on course to still meet in the final. Nadal the world number one beat Grigor Dimitrov 6-4 6-7 6-4 and will now face Marin Cilic the fourth seed. The World number one Rafael Nadal has won the China Open this afternoon with a straight sets victory over Nick Kyrgios 6-2 6-1 in the final. Kyrgios started well but lost his way after a line call in the first set went against him, then Nadal won nine games in a row to reclaim the title he won back in 2005.

Nadal who is aiming to win his sixth title this season beat World number eight Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria in three sets 6-3 4-6 6-1 in the semi – final this afternoon. Kyrgios took care of German Alexander Zverev to reach the final, without losing a game on his serve winning in straight sets 6-3 7-5.
