World number one Rafael Nadal produced a clay-court masterclass in the semi-finals of the Monte Carlo Masters to move into the final with a straight sets victory over the fourth seed Grigor Dimitrov 6-4 6-1. Nadal has now won 34 sets in a row this season on clay & will play in his 12th final at Monte Carlo this afternoon. In the final Nadal will play Kei Nishikori from Japan who overcame Alexander Zverev from a set down 3-6 6-3 6-4.

Nadal Through To Semi – Finals In Monte Carlo
The World number one Rafael Nadal was in stunning form at Monte Carlo Masters thrashing Dominic Thiem 6-0 6-2 in just 67 minutes. Nadal reaches a record 14th semi- final at Monte Carlo & will face the Bulgarian fourth seed Grigor Dimitrov for a place in Sunday final. Dimitrov reaches his first Monte Carlo semi-final with a straight sets victory over David Goffin 6-4 7-6. In the other semi-final Kei Nishikori will take on Alexander Zverev.
John Isner Wins Miami Open
Big serving American John Isner beat Alexander Zverev 6-7 6-4 6-4 to win the Miami Open & claim his first Masters 1000 title. Isner broke the German serve twice in the match and held his serve throughout the match, and will now move back into the top 10 in the world rankings.
Federer Out Of The Miami Open
Roger Federer has a shock defeat in his first match of this years Miami Open losing to world number 175 Thanasi Kokkinakis. Federer lost the match 3-6 6-3 7-6 & will lose his number one spot in the world rankings, to be replaced by Rafael Nadal. After the defeat, Federer has decided to miss the entire clay court season including the French Open.
Also former world number one Novak Djokovic was knocked out in the second round by Frenchman Benoit Paire the world number 47, in straight sets 6-3 6-4.
Del Potro Wins Indian Wells Title
Juan Martin Del Potro has won the Indian Wells title this evening with a thrilling victory over World number one Roger Federer. The Argentine won 6-4 5-7 7-6 and brought to an end Federer 17 match unbeaten run to claim his first ATP Masters 1000 title. Del Potro is the first player to beat Federer is 2018 & had to save three match points before coming through in two hours and 42 minutes.
Andy Murray Aims To Return Before Grass – Court Season
Andy Murray is aiming to return to the practice court towards the end of March & if all goes well could be back in action before the grass court season. Murray who had his hip surgery on January 8th, has not played a competitive match since Wimbledon last year. The reports from his camp have confirmed early stages of rehabilitation are going well.
Federer Wins Australian Open 2018
Roger Federer has won his sixth Australian Open today by beating Marin Cilic in a five set thriller under the roof in Melbourne. Federer won 6-2 6-7 6-3 3-6 6-1 to claim his 20th Grand Slam title and becomes the fourth player in history to win 20 or more major single titles along side Margaret Court, Serena Williams & Steffi Graf. Federer now 36 years of age, great form continues and has won three of the last five majors.
Federer Into Australian Open Final
The defending Champion Roger Federer is into his 7th Australian Open final on Sunday after South Korean Chung Hyeon retired in the second set with Federer leading the match 6-1 5-2. Chung had received treatment for a blister on his left foot three games earlier.
Roger who is yet to drop a single set so far at the championship is seeking his sixth Australian Open title and 20th Grand Slam title. In the final his opponent is big seeing Marin Cilic from Croatia who defeated Kyle Edmund in straight sets in the other semi-final 6-2 7-6 6-2. The final is a repeat of the Wimbledon 2017 final where Roger was victorious in the one sided encounter.
Federer Into Australian Open Semi- Finals
Roger Federer the defending champion has reached his 14th Australian Open semi-final with a victory over Tomas Berdych today. Federer won in straight sets 7-6 6-3 6-4 & will now play unseeded 21-year old Hyeon Chung of South Korea in the last four. Hyeon the world number 58 came through his quarter-final match beating American Tennys Sandgren 6-4 7-6 6-3.
Kyle Edmund Reaches Semi-Finals At Australian Open 2018
The British number two Kyle Edmund has reached the semi-finals of the Australian Open with a stunning performance to beat third seed Grigor Dimitrov. Edmund the world number 49 won the match in four sets 6-4 3-6 6-3 6-4 and becomes only the sixth British man to reach the last four in a Grand Slam in the open era.
Kyle will now face sixth seed Marin Cilic who came through against Rafael Nadal, sadly due to injury Rafa was forced to retire in the fifth set. The score when Nadal retired was 3-6 6-3 6-7 6-2 2-0.
