The British number two Kyle Edmund on his return from injury was knocked out of the Chengdu Open in the second round by American Jared Donaldson. Edmund was defeated 6-0 1-6 6-4 by the World number 46. In the previous round Edmund had beaten Australian Bernard Tomic 6-4 6-2.

Nadal Wins US Open 2018
Rafael Nadal the world number one has won his third US Open title & 16th Grand Slam title with a straight sets victory over Kevin Anderson from South Africa. Nadal won the one – sided final 6-3 6-3 6-4 & is now three Grand Slam titles behind Roger Federer.
Del Potro Beats Federer In US Open
Juan Martin del Potro has defeated Roger Federer in four sets 7-5 3-6 7-6 6-4 to reach the US Open semi-finals in New York. Del Potro who beat Federer on the same court in the 2009 US Open final to win his only Grand Slam title to date was in fantastic form & will now face number one seed Rafael Nadel for a place in the final.
Federer & Nadal Into US Open 4th Round
The third seed Roger Federer defeated Feliciano Lopez of Spain in straight sets 6-3 6-3 7-5 to book his place in the 4th round of the US Open. Federer will now face Philipp Kohlschreiber in the last 16.
The number one seed Rafael Nadal beat Leonardo Mayer from a set down 6-7 6-3 6-1 6-4 in three hours & 16 minutes.
Edmund Retires Injured From US Open
Kyle Edmund sadly was forced to retire from his third – round match at the US Open against teenager Denis Shapovalov because of a back injury. Shapovalov led 3-6 6-3 6-3 1-0 when Edmund pulled out, ending British hopes in the singles events at Flushing Meadows in New York.
Shapovalou will now face 12th seed Pablo Carreno Busta from Spain in the last 16 & is the youngest man to reach this stage since Michael Chang in 1989.
Edmund & Norrie Into US Open Second Round
Kyle Edmund & Cameron Norris are into the second round of the US Open. Edmund who performed well last year at the tournament reaching the forth round, was in good form knocking out 32nd seed Dutchman Robin Haase in straight sets 6-3 7-5 6-3. While Norrie the qualifier progressed when Dmitry Tursunov retired when trailing 7-6 6-1.
Not so good news for Heather Watson as she was defeated 6-4 6-4 by Alize Cornet.

Federer Wins Wimbledon 2017
Roger Federer at the age of 35 has become the first man to win Wimbledon eight times with a straight sets victory against Marin Cilic of Croatia this afternoon on centre court. Federer the third seed won 6-3 6-1 6-4 in one hour & 41 minutes to claim his 19th Grand Slam title & first Wimbledon title since 2012.
Roger became the first man since Bjorn Borg in 1976 to win the Wimbledon title without dropping a set.
Garbine Muguruza Is Wimbledon Champion 2017
Garbine Muguruza is the 2017 Wimbledon champion after beating Venus Williams in straight sets 7-5 6-0 under the roof on centre court this afternoon. Venus the five-time champion had two sets points at 5-4 in the first set but could not close it out & then lost nine games in a row.
It is Garbine second Grand Slam title after winning the French Open in 2016 beating Serena Williams in the final.
