Juan Martin del Potro is into the last 16 in Monte Carlo after a slow start against Alexandr Dolgopolov. Del Potro winning the match 1-6 6-4 6-3 in just over two hours. Jo – Wilfried Tsonga also came through defeating Nikolay Davydenko 7-6 6-2.

Jamie Murray and partner John Peers have won the doubles title in Houston. The unseeded pair defeated the Bryan brothers after saving a match point to win 1-6 7-6 12-10.

The Czech Republic and Switzerland have set a new Davis Cup record with the longest match in the history of the event. The Czech pair Tomas Berdych and Lucas Rosol came through in seven hours and two minutes defeating Swiss duo Stanislas Wawrinka and Marco Chiudinelli 6-4 5-7 6-4 6-7 24-22.

Congratulations to Heather Watson and Laura Robson who are now inside the top 50 in the world rankings. Watson is now ranked 40th and Robson just three places behind. The last time a pair of GB women were ranked in the top 50 at the same time was 26 years ago.

World number one Novak Djokovic has made history by becoming the first man in the open era to win three straight Australian Open titles. Novak was just to good for Andy Murray winning the match 6-7 7-6 6-3 6-2. The victory puts Djokovic on six Grand Slam titles and for sure many more will follow.
