Monte Carlo Update

Juan Martin del Potro is into the last 16 in Monte Carlo after a slow start against Alexandr Dolgopolov. Del Potro winning the match 1-6 6-4 6-3 in just over two hours. Jo – Wilfried Tsonga also came through defeating Nikolay Davydenko 7-6 6-2.

Murray the new world number 2

Congratulations to Andy Murray for winning the Miami title and becoming world number 2. Murray had a slow start losing the first five games against David Ferrer but staged a great recovery winning 2-6 6-4 7-6. Murray was ranked number 2 for 3 weeks in 2009.

Nadal Wins Indian Wells Title

Rafael Nadal has won the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells with a great performance in the final defeating Juan Martin del Potro 4-6 6-3 6-4. This is Nadal third title since his comeback in February. Del Potro had a great tournament with wins over world number 1 Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray.

Longest Davis Cup Game in History

The Czech Republic and Switzerland have set a new Davis Cup record with the longest match in the history of the event. The Czech pair Tomas Berdych and Lucas Rosol came through in seven hours and two minutes defeating Swiss duo Stanislas Wawrinka and Marco Chiudinelli 6-4 5-7 6-4 6-7 24-22.

Djokovic wins Australian Open

World number one Novak Djokovic has made history by becoming the first man in the open era to win three straight Australian Open titles. Novak was just to good for Andy Murray winning the match 6-7 7-6 6-3 6-2. The victory puts Djokovic on six Grand Slam titles and for sure many more will follow.

Azarenka defends Australian Open title

Victoria Azarenka came from a set down to retain her Australian Open title beating Li Na  4-6 6-4 6-3. This was Azarenka second Grand Slam title and still keeps her as the world number one. Tomorrow is the men’s final between Andy Murray and world number one Novak Djokovic.
